All electrical equipment must be tested and tagged, it’s the law. Current & compliant testing & tagging in your work place, ensures you operate a safe workplace. Testing & tagging reduces the risk of electric shock to your staff and visitors. It also reduces the risk of electrical fires. Your workplace will be safer and it will protect your company from being fined! Regular testing and tagging ensures that all electrical equipment on-site, is safe for your staff and visitors to use. Some examples of items that need to be tested & tagged are (but not limited to):
- plant, machinery, portable fans, heaters, computers, computer screens
- laptop power cords, printers, laminators, binding machines, audio visual equipment
- kitchen appliances such as dishwasher, fridge, kettle, oven, toaster, sandwich press, microwave
- hand dryers, powerboards, air conditioners (that plug into a power point)
- extension leads
- Exit and emergency lighting – installation and testing
- RCDs and safety switches
- Switchboards using thermographic testing
